reconstruction of the water pumping station

As a result of russian military operations, the water pumping station No. 2 Podusivka of the Chernihivvodokanal utility company, which provides 34% of the city's total water consumption and had a maximum capacity of 30,000 m3/day, was severely damaged. This project involves the reconstruction of the water pumping station and the construction of a water treatment plant using modern energy-efficient technologies, the construction of a solar power plant and the use of heat pumps. In addition, the use of the latest technologies and the construction of the water treatment plant will allow for the removal of excess iron and manganese.

SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT OF CHERNIHIV

Sewage treatment plant was designed and built more than 60 years ago. As a result, it uses inefficient, outdated equipment that cannot provide acceptable quality of wastewater treatment from nitrogen and phosphorus compounds, as the chemical composition of the wastewater has changed significantly since the plant was designed.

RECONSTRUCTION AND MODERNISATION OF THE CHERNIHIV HEAT AND POWER PLANT WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF A WASTE PROCESSING PLANT

As a result of enemy shelling, Chernihiv CHPP suffered significant damage. To ensure heat supply in the city, it is necessary to restore and modernise the heat-generating equipment. In addition, the project envisages the construction of a waste recycling plant (approximately 100,000 tonnes of waste per year).

REHABILITATION CENTRE

Due to the hostilities that have been taking place on the territory of Ukraine since 2014, there is a great need to establish rehabilitation centres for war veterans. The main focus of the projected rehabilitation centre will be physical and mental rehabilitation of both veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and all citizens affected by the hostilities.
The facility is planned to be built in a green area in the city, among the forest, which will facilitate faster recovery. In addition, the location has a well-developed infrastructure and is within easy reach of the capital city of Kyiv.

RESTORATION AND MODERNISATION OF THE TRANSPORT NETWORK

As a result of the hostilities in the city, about 5 km of the contact network was destroyed and a large number of public transport was damaged:
- overhaul of traction substations;
- purchase of equipment for the maintenance of trolleybuses and buses;
- replacement of worn-out trolleybus overhead line supports;
- overhaul of the building;
- reconstruction and arrangement of the washing and cleaning complex;
- implementation of an automatic fire extinguishing system and fire alarm systems;
- purchase of trolleybus rolling stock;
- purchase of emergency equipment.

CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW SCHOOL TO REPLACE TWO DESTROYED ONES

As a result of the hostilities in Chernihiv, 70% of educational institutions were damaged, including 2 schools that were completely destroyed and cannot be restored. These schools were located in the same district of the city - Podusivka. With the construction of the new school, we want to replace the two previous existing ones. This will also solve the problem for children and their parents with daily transfers to other schools in other parts of the city, as there are no other schools in the area.

RESTORATION OF THE DAMAGED CHERNIHIV CITY HOSPITAL NO. 2

Chernihiv City Hospital No. 2 sees an average of 500,000 patients and it is the largest hospital in the city, which has been significantly affected by the hostilities. As a result of the damage, a large number of works need to be carried out, which will reduce the consumption of fuel and energy resources, ensure compliance with sanitary and hygienic conditions, minimise the anthropogenic factor and improve the thermal insulation of buildings.

REBUILDING THE DESTROYED LOKOMOTYV STADIUM

The Lokomotiv stadium is home to the Desna specialised children's and youth football school of the Olympic reserve, which currently has 400 pupils. As a result of the shelling, the training facility was damaged and rendered unusable. The project involves the construction of two gyms, a football pitch and a stand. The project has an important social mission: children will be able to practice various sports. This will help to solve the problems of adolescence and engage children in physical education and development.

RECONSTRUCTION OF THE CENTRAL PARK OF CULTURE AND RECREATION

The Central Park of Culture and Recreation in Chernihiv is located in a green area, close to the Desna River and the stadium. The park is a favourite destination for families as it offers entertainment for all tastes. However, a lot of the equipment is outdated and needs to be updated, as it is becoming more and more dangerous to operate every year. The city park plays a big role in the city, as it is one of the places to spend weekends and an opportunity to relax in nature. The park can provide rides for children and adults, bicycle paths, pedestrian paths, zip-lines, extreme recreation and much more.

CLEANING UP THE STRING RIVER AND DEVELOPING MODERN INFRASTRUCTURE

The Stryzhen River is one of Chernihiv's main waterways and flows through the city. Unfortunately, today it is heavily polluted and on the verge of an environmental disaster. The project aims to save the city's ecology and provide infrastructure for residents around the river.

RECONSTRUCTION OF ARTESIAN BOREHOLE NO. 3 OF THE PUMPING STATION OF WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM NO. 1 YALIVSHCHYNA

One of the artesian boreholes, which was completely destroyed by a direct hit, was restored thanks to the help of the international organisation Save the Children.As a result of the reconstruction of artesian borehole No. 3 at the Yalivshchyna water supply pumping station No. 1, a new above-ground pavilion was built and modern equipment installed.

MODULAR TOWN FOR INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS

Many people have lost their homes as a result of russia's military aggression in Ukraine, so the project aimed to provide internally displaced persons with temporary housing.
The project was implemented with the participation of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

ASSISTANCE IN RECOVERY OF TWO PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS No.4 and No.72

After a direct shell hit the building of kindergarten No. 72, a corner was destroyed and a fire broke out. At present, windows have been replaced, the roof has been restored and interior works are underway in both institutions. The amount of assistance totalled 628 000 USD.
The project is being implemented with the help of Finn Church Aid.

REPAIRING DAMAGED WINDOWS IN TWO SCHOOLS IN CHERNIHIV, NO. 14 AND NO. 13

The total amount of assistance for these two schools was12 644 674.28 UAH. The organisation continues to provide assistance to 8 more schools (No. 6, No. 11, No. 16, No. 20, No. 24, No. 29, No. 31, No. 34) in the city – these are partial cosmetic repairs of damaged premises (gyms, corridors, classrooms, library, teacher's room). The project is being implemented with the help of Finn Church Aid.

SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF A BLOCK-MODULAR BOILER COMPLEX

Partners: International Committee of the Red Cross, Foreign Investment Company Danfos LLC
Goal: to provide heat and hot water supply to 9 residential multi-storey buildings and almost five hundred subscribers (427 people).
What have been done: from May to August 2022, a block-modular boiler house with a gas metering unit, a gas reducer, and chimneys was delivered and installed.

POWERFUL TOURISM POTENTIAL

With aim of maximum protection and popularization of cultural and architectural heritage of Chernihiv, it is necessary to have support of European Union, in particular UNESCO the World organization. This is a certain guarantor of preservation, protection and control over the preservation of the cultural face of the city with the 1300-year history.For today Chernihiv was presented in the preliminary list of the Worls Heritage of UNESCO.

    Over the centuries, the city was first the capital of the large Chernihiv princedom, then the centre of a voivodeship within the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, a Cossack regiment of the Hetmanate, a province within the russian empire, and a regional centre since Ukraine's independence.

    PRESERVED MONUMENTS OF THE PRE-MONGOL PERIOD

    These include the Spasskyi Cathedral, the Borys and Hlib Cathedral, the Assumption Church, the Antonii Caves, and the Black Grave. In total, the city has 23 churches, as well as a number of monuments and memorials.

THE MOST POPULAR DIRECTIONS: the territory of Dytynets, Boldyny Hills and Chernihiv's Podil, Antonii Caves, and the M. Kotsiubynskyi Literary Museum. Certified guides provide sightseeing support in the city. The cultural heritage of Chernihiv is an integral part of the world's cultural heritage.
