WATER RESOURCES, RIVERS:

The city has the longest coastal strip in Ukraine (137 km), which has a large number of coastal areas. Rivers: Ingul, Southern Buh, Dnipro-Buh Estuary.

Green spaces cover 760 hectares, including 230 hectares of hardwoods. The average age of the plantations is 30-35 years.

PROGRAMME OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

The agreed programmes need to be revised due to changes caused by the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by russia. A new master plan for the city is being developed; work on the main urban planning document began in the summer of 2022.
Work is underway to develop the Mykolaiv City Territorial Community Development Strategy until 2027 and its Implementation Plan with expert technical support from UNDP

Mykolaiv has joined an international project to rebuild Ukrainian cities after the war. The project is coordinated by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), which has engaged One Works, a global design and architecture company, to help our city.

Work is underway to approve and sign contracts. We plan to receive grant funds for the purchase:
- Gas boilers;
- Network pumps with frequency converters;
- Frequency converters with control cabinet.

MODERNISATION OF THE TROLLEYBUS FLEET IN MYKOLAIV

The supply of low-floor trolleybuses has resumed - 33 new trolleybuses out of 40 under the contract have already been delivered.
We are currently working on announcing a new procurement procedure.

DEMOUKRAINADH IN MYKOLAIV CITY

Partners: Northern Environmental Finance Corporation (NEFCO)A new boiler house with a capacity of 4020 kW was built.

Company installed 34 individual heat points, which allow the temperature of the heat carrier to be regulated by external temperatures, thereby saving money for the consumed heat.
This project will allow unloading the boiler house of Mykolaivoblteploenergo by transferring heat consumption from Mykolaiv CHP.

NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE ADAPTATION OF INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS AND ATO/JOINT FORCES VETERANS TO THE COMMUNITY OF MYKOLAIV

Partners: World Bank Setting up a health support and rehabilitation centre with the aim of returning to an active and fulfilling life of the internally displaced persons, participants of the anti-terrorist operation, combatants and disabled veterans and their families and family members of the deceased.

The grant also funded the purchase and delivery to the City Emergency Hospital of medical equipment for minimally invasive surgery on large joints of the limbs, spinal surgery, neurosurgery, etc. (arthroscopic stand) worth 1.9 million UAH.

WINTERISATION RESPONSE IN UKRAINE - PROCUREMENT FOR MYKOLAIV

Parnters: Government of the Kingdom of Denmark through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark
We received 55 pieces of equipment (modular boilers and diesel generators). A plan has been developed to install diesel generators to provide the city with an uninterrupted supply of water and heat. The modular generators will provide the city with heat supply in the upcoming heating periods.
The project will contribute to heat and water supply for the city of Mykolaiv at critical times that may arise in the absence of electricity supply.

An emergency vehicle was received (technical assistance in the amount of USD 158,813.00), which has a full range of equipment for repairing damage to the network.

AGRO-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

Until 24.02.2022, Mykolaiv held a leading position in the export of plant products. During russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the port infrastructure was severely damaged. The city's ports were not included in the «grain corridor».

TOURISM POTENTIAL

Mykolaiv has a fairly high potential in tourism. There are 347 historical and cultural monuments in Mykolaiv: 9 monuments of landscape art; 338 buildings and structures of cultural heritage; and 3 theatres. Popular locations and places for family and children's recreation before the hostilities: 8 piers, modernised Soborna Square, parks, squares, and Skazka children's playground.

  • ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATIONS OF THE WILD GARDEN SETTLEMENT

    An ancient Cimmerian city from the time of Troy, one of the oldest observatories in Eastern Europe, founded in 1821.

  • THE OLDEST YACHT CLUB IN UKRAINE

    Founded in 1888.

  • SHUKHOV TOWER

    The water tower, designed by engineer Vladimir Shukhov, was installed and used in the municipal water supply system for the first time in the world.

  • UNDERGROUND MYKOLAIV

    Underground Mykolaiv has many underground passages and mines from which the construction of Mykolaiv began, unique drawbridges, etc.

  • THE BEST ZOO IN UKRAINE

    The collection includes about 452 species, more than 220 of which are listed in the Red Book; 90 species among Ukrainian zoos are represented only here.
